ANARCHITECT was appointed by a VIP Client to design two feature private residences in the UAE in a unique desert context. Celebrating the characteristic landscape was a crucial concern which was dealt with by elevating the retreat through the use of stilts and a metal platform allowing for unobstructed sand movements.

The solidity of the elevations also responds to the intense desert climate while maintaining adequate levels of privacy. The retreat begins to reveal itself and the spaces beyond the discreet entrance with the play of hierarchical heights of the main living. The project is composed of a collection of solid pavilions carefully positioned according to sun orientation and interconnected by a covered circulation walkway.

Fluid indoor-outdoor relationships, framed views and moments overlooking the picturesque sunrise and sunset have been carefully curated. The main elevation has elevated views and a panorama of 180 degrees for both sunrise and sunset experience while the bedrooms face towards the East for sunrise awakening.
